PUBLICATION INFORMATION
San Diego, Calif. : Clan Kincaid, 1987.

FORMAT
44 p. : ill., coat of arms.

NOTES
Reprint of the 1922 ed. published in Sardinia, Ohio.

CONTENTS
Samuel Kincaid (d.1813), according to family tradition, came from Allegheny Co.,
PA to Manchester, Adams Co., Ohio and settled there. He married Sarah Reed and
they were the parents of seven children. He enlisted in the War of 1812 and was
killed at the siege of Fort Meigs on 5 May 1813. Some family members believed
that his parents were Robert Kincaid and Margaret Daugherty of Ireland, who
emigrated and settled near Pittsburgh, PA., but the author obtained records which
indicate that John Kincaid, Presbyterian (Covenanter) preacher, of Campsie
Parish, Stirlingshire, Scotland who was exiled in 1684 to Barbadoes, West Indies,
and escaped and settled at Upland, PA, was the grandfather of Samuel. The
descendants of Samuel later settled in Brown Co., Ohio (near Sardinia) and
claimed a very close relationship with the descendants of Thomas Kincaid in Adams
Co., Ohio. Several generations of descendants are given.
Includes Sayres, Masters, Dunn, Ewing, Wilson, Breckinridge and other related families.
