James Hodgkins' Will
Elizabeth's children & gr children

Pleas held before the honorable John Thompson Esquire President Judge & Philip Gatch, Alexander Blair & Joseph Campbell Esquires Associate Judges of the Court of Common Pleas at the court house in Williamsburgh for the County of Clermont at the Term of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fourteen of this State the twelfth.
This day came James Hodkins the Executor of the Will & Testament of Elizabeth Hodkins late of this County Deceased & produced said Will. At the same time came William Crossly & Calwell Tweed subscribing Witnesses thereto & being duly sworn According to Law depose & say that they were present when the Testator signed & Acknowledged the same as her last Will & Testament & that they in her presence at her Request & in the presence of each other signed their names as Witnesses thereto. And that they believed the Testator to be of sound Mind Memory & Judgement when she signed & Acknowledged the same Whereupon ordered said Will be Recorded.
On Motion Ordered that Setters Testamentary issue to James Hodgkins Executor of the last will & Testament of Elizabeth Hodgkins late of this County Deceased on his entering into Bond in three Thousand Dollars with Amos Moore & Henry Chapman his securities, thereupon the said James Hodkins with his said securities entered into & Acknowledged Bond in three thousand dollars in open Court Conditioned as the Law directs The said James Hodkins took the oath required by Law The Court Order the personal property of said Deceased to be appraised by Amos Ellis, Charles Campbell & William Crossley under oath or Affirmation.

Will
In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth Hodgkins of Pleasant Township in the County of Clermont & State of Ohio do for settling such Temporal Estate as it hath Pleased the Lord to bestow unto me make this my last will & Testament in manner & form following Revoking all others. Item I bequeath twenty Dollars to Mary Burget wife of Voluntine Burget which the said Voluntine Burget owes me & Ten Dollars to William Lain. Also I bequeath twenty Dollars to Elizabeth Burget wife to Aron Burget & to the rest of my beloved grand Children the following Sums (to wit) to John Slaid fifty Dollars to Ezekiel Slaid fifty Dollars, to James Slaid fifty Dollars, to Samuel Slaid Eighty Dollars to William Slaid one hundred & Eighty Dollars. To Mary Pangburn wife of Samuel Pangburn fifty Dollars, To James Hodgkins son of Joshua Hodgkins one hundred Dollars. To Nancy Hodgkins Joshua Hodgkins’ Daughter fifty Dollars to Margary, Joshua Hodgkins’ Step Daughter twenty Dollars, to Amos Robans forty Dollars - To Samuel Robans forty Dollars to Ezekiel Robans forty Dollars to William Robins John Robins Hannah Robins & James Robins Each fifty dollars To Elizabeth Wright Wife of George Wright fifty dollars To my son James Hodgkins’ children each fifty dollars. & To my son Samuel Hodgkins twenty dollars. I also will the ballance of my Estate if any to my son James Hodgkins. I also order my Executor to pay all my bequeaths in two years after my decease to those my Legatees that is of lawfull age. & I nominate my son James Hodgkins to be Executor of this my last will & Testament made this fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & fourteen. 1814.
