LEROY J. KINDLE, oldest child of DAVID KINDLE and THEODOSIA SCOTT was born 20 Oct 1811 in an area that became Brown County, Ohio in 1818. He died 10 Nov 1889 in Brown Co., and is buried in Linwood Cemetery, Jefferson Twp..

He married ELIZABETH JANE BAYNE, on 22 Oct 1835 in Brown Co, Ohio, daughter of SAMUEL DUVALL BAYNE (1783-1857) and ELEANOR WEST (1786-1830), a related family on our West line. Elizabeth was born 1809 in Adams Co, Ohio, and died 10 Aug 1839 in Byrd Twp, and is buried in Old Brick Red Oak Cemetery Brown Co, OH. There were two children born to them: Martin V., and Eliza J. (see family group sheet).

He married second MARY JANE CARNAHAN on 29 Oct 1840 in Brown Co, Ohio, daughter of JOHN CARNAHAN and Sarah DEVORE. Mary Jane was born 7 Jan 1821 and died 29 Apr 1893 and is buried in Linwood Cemetery, Jefferson Twp, Brown Co. They were the parents of ten children: Hiram W., Chambers, Alfred, Leroy "Lee", Newton, Mary "Mollie", David, Sarah B., John A., and Hettie E., born between 1841 and 1862.
