JEREMIAH H. KINDLE and MARY ELLIS 3G Uncle JEREMIAH H. KINDLE, eighth child of DAVID KINDLE and THEODOSIA SCOTT, was born 20 August 1821 in Brown Co, Ohio. He married MARY ELLIS on 13 Jan 1848 in Brown Co., and after 1850 moved west to Illinois. In 1860, Jeremiah and Mary were living in Griggsville Twp, Pike Co, Illinois with the four children, three identified only by initials. They had real estate valued at $1800, and Jeremiah listed his occupation as "Farmer". By 1870, they had moved east to Rosemond Twp, Christian Co, Illinois, again with four children, but with full names for all: Laura 21, Sarah 18, Edgar 15 and Charles 12. We hope to find them all in later censuses. Based on the research of Cathy Ellis, recently rec'd from Mary Jane Hennon, we now believe that Mary Ellis was the daughter of Elias Ellis and Sarah A. Kinnett of Brown Co, Ohio and Pike Co, Illinois. Elias Ellis was the son of Isaac Ellis and Mary Day; Isaac Ellis was the son of William Ellis and Rachel Curtis; and William Ellis was the son of Ellis Ellis and Ann Bateman, our 6G grandparents.
